The Great Cape Adventure: Finished Product

Thursday, November 21, 2013

The moment you've all been waiting for ..... the finished cape!

I had Hubs take some pictures of me with his fancy camera.  So warm and cozy!

It was a beautiful day too, probably one of the last lovely days of Fall this year.

The last couple of pictures are to show how the arm hole and interior pocket are one in the same.  It's pretty hard to visualize this with just the pattern description!  The coat is very warm and cozy, and I've received several compliments on it!  I just love how unique it is.  Maybe next year I will muster up the courage to make something like this:
Hello, Adorable!!!  Can I do this?  HELLS YEAH I CAN DO IT!  Okay, ready to see some new stuff??  On to the next project!

  1. I started muslining Gertie's coat dress...I think I want this is my wardrobe now! I'll be watching for your coat! Great cape, too. I love it!

    2. I started doing an FBA, blogged about it, then walked away from it....but really, I think the only thing I really need to do is take in the shoulders. I have pretty narrow shoulders compared to Gertie so that's a must for me. But my muslin was pretty cute. Even in the boring muslin fabric. Oh, you! You're making me want to make this coat again! :)

  2. I stumbled upon your blog when I was looking at gel top coats - yeah, weird right? - and I have to say I am so impressed by this gorgeous cape! I don't have a creative bone in my body so I wish I could sew so wonderfully, but this cape is divine.

    Loved looking at your blog!
